Fairfax Meadow visit

The team from buying specialist Lynx Purchasing were bought up to speed on the latest trends in meat and poultry with a visit to leading catering butcher Fairfax Meadow.

The trip to the Fairfax Meadow head office and main production facility in Derby is testament to the close working partnership between Lynx Purchasing and its key suppliers, as well as the high priority that the Lynx team place on understanding trends in the market.

Along with a factory tour and an update on market trends, the tour included an opportunity to sample the latest product innovations from Fairfax Meadow.  Lynx Purchasing managing director Rachel Dobson said: “We were shown a range of both cooked and pre-prepared new products, and had the chance to taste them in the development kitchen.

“The visit was a refresher for some of us, while for three of the newer members of the team it was their first visit to the main Fairfax site in Derby. With meat at the heart of the menu for many of our customers, it was an important opportunity to talk to the Fairfax team about ways we can work even more closely together during 2017 and beyond.

“The market is getting more competitive market for catering and hospitality operators all the time, so quality, service and innovation from suppliers are essential. Our partnerships with specialists such as Fairfax Meadow helps our customers manage costs and maintain margins, while also delivering on consumer expectations.

“We’d like to thank Fairfax Meadow once again for hosting the visit.”
